ZebraHosts is about to embark on its third and final phase of a technical upgrade strategy that will see its network capacity double in size over the next four months.

The second phase of upgrade attained a massive 50% increase in network capacity, and phase three, due for completion this year, will see a further 50% capacity boost to the ZebraHosts network.

Doubling network capacity is the second technical upgrade programme ZebraHosts has undertaken in the last year, providing a direct benefit to customers by enabling a lower charge for services.

Sean Cardus, Head of Systems at ZebraHosts comments;

The need to increase our network capacity is due to demand from our customers. As more technologically advanced applications come into play, companies require a service that can accommodate this."

Our customers will now benefit from the ability to host more applications that have higher bandwidths and capacity requirements such as Voice Over IP (VOIP) and Video Applications, and as the upgrade involves a switch in suppliers, customers will also benefit from a lower costs for our services."

Having been a year in the planning, the network capacity increase was made possible due to a technical upgrade that took place last December, allowing the network core to be replaced with a new set of hardware.

This implementation resulted in increased redundancy and resiliency of the network for ZebraHosts allowing it to move on to the second phase of upgrade, which was completed earlier this year.

The current cost of instillation for the scheme is estimated at around £10,000 and the final phase of the scheme, which will add a further 50% increase to capacity will be completed before the end of this year due to contract obligations.
